Hi Greg,

I share your struggle and have written very little this past year. I realize, though (again and again), that I'm not really living (awake to the world) when I'm not writing--"remarking" as you say--on the little things.

You are a very talented writer. You have a way of immediately opening the heart of your audience with words. I find myself moved each time I read your work.

Wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving! :) So glad to know you.

Absolutely. Writing is what it all about. Then you can share those special times and places. I try to make people smile and occasionaly think.

I believe I once told you that the need to write can be a curse. You feel drawn into it, as to a whirlpool, until you feel the need to pull yourself out so as to start living once again.

I look at writing as sculpting, pruning away unnecessary thoughts and words until all that remains are the few words that perfectly express the thought. Invariably, you strive for The Pieta but end up with something that more closely resembles a Disney character, but the fun is in the doing.

Very insightful blog, Gregor. I always enjoy your writing.

You wrote:
"At times I have found my inclination toward written record superseding the living of the life itself. Or even if that’s not true, one is led to believe that constant documenting is in opposition to doing."

That hit me. I have often felt like that in blogging. I think for me to have anything original worth saying, the living it must come first and have priority, whether the words about it ever find a "page" or not.

You have a great blog and I'm glad I found it. Keep up the good work. From your fellow Minnesotan (in Minneapolis),
Peace
